A week in Quarantine – Hamptons Edition

I wonder is it even appropriate to still say quarantine because we’re all definitely not staying at home.

Anyway, I spent the last week in the Hamptons with my friends and it was glorious. We stayed in Amagansett in a 3 bd 2 ba house, complete with pool, wraparound deck and lots and lots of champagne.

Cheers to Summer not being dead.

Miami for the weekend

Yes, it’s overplayed and not always worth it but I went to Miami this past week for my birthday solely because it was too damn cold in New York to do anything but sit in my apartment and be miserable about the dissolution of my company (google Blippar if you’re curious). Anyways, the weather was great, the food was overpriced and I loved every second of it.

Pro tips:

  • If you go it’ll rain for at least one night
  • You can always pool hop to different hotels even if you’re staying at a shitty one
  • Eat at kiki on the river, it’s worth it
  • The edition is bomb af – if you have an extra $300 a night to spare stay there

That time I risked my life in Minca

Minca, Colombia.

A small town of maybe 1,000 people located in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Home to coffee farms, views of the Santa Marta, waterfalls and much more. It’s about an hour outside of the city by bus and once in the town the only mode of transport is moto taxi. For those of you don’t know moto is short for motorcycle. Aka you have to ride on the back of someone’s motorcycle up and down the mountain to see anything.

Let me explain, I’m officially brain dead when it comes to planning and can’t do it anymore so I let my friend Lauren plan this excursion.

At first I thought we would be taking a taxi from location to location in Minca. I then learned there would be motorcycle transport. Which was ok, until I learned it was all motos all the time up and down the mountain… not ok.

The photo above was taken when it was deemed too “sucio” aka dangerous for us to sit on the back of the motorcycles. I know sucio means dirty but in reality those wheels were slipping and sliding around the mud so bad I was convinced we were going to keel over at any moment.

Lucky for us these guys grew up in Minca and have been riding up and down the mountains for years, nevertheless I did not feel better on the back of the moto 😂

Was is worth it? Eh. Would I do it again? Also eh. Anyways – here are the photos. (Yes I threw a little thirst trap in there for you hoes)

Parque Tayrona

Word to the wise. If you’re in Colombia and have an extra 2 days it’s worth going to Tayrona National Park in Santa Marta. Go with a tour company and get ready for some of the most beautiful beaches you’ve ever seen and a bumpy ass 2 hour ride.

Word to the thirsty: charge your phones , the thirst traps are A1
